We´re speaking to David Bustos, an athlete at ´Club Deportivo Nike Running´ (Nike Running Sports Club), who was born in Mallorca & is a specialist in the 1500m, a sport that has taken him to the top of his league, both nationally and internationally. After his suffering seventh position in his 1500m at the Rio Olympics and making the most of the opportunity for Nike to launch their new model the Nike Air Zoom Structure 20, we take the chance to get more familiar with his own personal opinion.

Technical assessment

You changed from living in Palma, to Cantabria and now you're living in Ibiza. Thanks to its sun and incredible beaches, I can get an idea of how I would rest after preparing as well as competing and of course, get away from all of the pressure caused by the Olympics. But...

How does David recover?
In the end, just like everyone, a couple of weeks holiday and resting with your family, but more than anything you need to disconnect mentally, due to the fact that most of the exhaustion comes from all of the pressure that is caused by all of the expectations.

After such a great season, what would be your dream for next year?
Take one step closer to the medals in the world championship, but there is a lot of competition...

Can you remember which your first trainers were and how you got your hands on the first Nike Structure?
My first trainers were a pair of Pegasus. I played football and my coach saw that I had talent and asked me to give athletics a try. Therefore my mother (who is very farsighted) found out about it and bought me these trainers so I could do that test.

Can you give us your opinion about the new model that Nike have released this week, the Nike Air Zoom Structure 20?
They surprised me for being more reactive and dynamic than previous versions. Thanks to that I think that they can be more versatile and polyvalent, which means they can be used in a larger variety of training sessions. I must also point out that they are a lot more comfortable.

Which kind of runners' profile would you recommend them for?
For people who are going to run long distances, especially at the start of the season which is where you must do more for longer, especially for people who need to feel more grip.

Thank you very much David and Good luck!
