Everyone knows that Nike loves a challenge, and that one main aim is to conduct research to be able to offer athletes the most technically advanced products possible. But we couldn´t even imagine an attempt to pulverise the Marathon record – for someone to complete the 42km/26 mile course in less than 2 hours.
The chosen time will be at dawn on 6th or 7th May, depending on the weather conditions, and the place will be one of the paradises for speed, the mythical track in Monza, Italy.
I am one of those people who think that a person's limits are in the mind and that with training and confidence, everything can be achieved. And I suppose that you would agree with me that technical advances in sporting equipment have been very important in achieving the latest world records.
This is why, Nike will unveil the Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite, a running shoe which, according to tests will reduce race times by approximately 4%. And, what will happen if ELIUD KIPCHOGE (KENYA), LELISA DESISA (ETHIOPIA) AND ZERSENAY TADESE (ERITREA) slip these shoes on?
Without doubt it will be one of the biggest events of the year and it will be a clear turning point in the world of athletics. A new era of speed will begin.
Don't miss this event which will be broadcast live on the official Nike website, here is the link: nikebreaking2.twitter.com
** The 2h barrier just got much that closer, after two agonizing hours, Eliud Kipchoge stayed within seconds of the barrier. 2:00:25. It is, therefore, only a matter of time that someone get the goal Congratulations.
Good luck!
