I must say that after 24 years of experience in open water and having tried numerous wetsuits, I was very surprised by the quality of the wetsuit from the first strokes, specifically from the 2nd stroke, in which I breathed for the first time. I am a person who due to my technical work and above all to being a very perfectionist, I have worked a lot on the position of the head when breathing, and when I went to take a breath, I felt that I had all the air in the world for me, the stability that I had at that time extremely caught my attention. So after 2 strokes I said to myself "Head is surprising me."

cabecera

BODY POSITION: Clearly one of the benefits of this wetsuit is the position in which it places the swimmer's body. There are wetsuits that float more, like the Head Black Marlin, but sometimes for swimmers with good technique they float too much and the swimmer has to modify their stroke too much to adapt to the wetsuit. In my opinion, the position offered by the Head Pure is perfect for a swimmer with good technique, since the variations to be made in the mechanics of the breaststroke, and especially in the extension of the arm in the water, are few and very subtle. . The combination of its flat Aircel structure of 3.5mm from the neck to the knees + 2mm from the knees to the ankle in its front part, with its 2mm thickness in the spine as well as in the lumbar area and the back of the legs, they stabilize you completely and make the body position completely horizontal and very high. With this wetsuit the position is higher on the surface of the water than with any other wetsuit I have tried. This elevated position reduces friction with the water and therefore helps you swim faster. And something very important, it stabilizes your body without discomfort in the lumbar area, something that I have noticed with other brands, especially with those models that raise the lower body too much since they do not stabilize the body correctly. In addition, this combination of materials and thicknesses on the front, on the back and on the legs, make it extremely easy to control the roll to adapt it to different sea conditions, what with other wets that have the same thickness in those areas is more expensive.

SHOULDER FLEXIBILITY: In my opinion, the most important thing in a wetsuit is its flexibility in the shoulders, which is what will allow you to swim meters and meters comfortably and without an overload on your shoulders that makes it difficult for you to stroke after several hours swimming. When I received the wetsuit and took it out of the box, the first thing I did was check how flexible the shoulders were, and to tell the truth, they did not seem too flexible since they are 1.5mm thick and I am used to wetsuits with thinner shoulders . But when I got into the water, the subject was different. The mobility of the shoulders seemed very very good, and in addition, the comfort is provided by the 1mm thick material in the armpits and sides, which is thinner and more elastic than that of the shoulders, it makes the neoprene not pull on the armpits allowing practically total mobility and giving the shoulders great freedom of movement. In addition, this flexible material makes the neoprene fit perfectly in the armpits avoiding chafing after km of swimming. Given this freedom of movement, increasing the pace to swim faster is very easy, either to improve your time, to swim in drafing or to swim in against current situations. You can do it comfortably and without increasing fatigue in the shoulders. This neoprene will have more durability than other high-end wetsuits, being really flexible and very comfortable. From my point of view, a great job. imagen

ARMS: 0.5mm thick on the arms, amazing right? This was also one of the features that caught my eye, it is extremely fine. It is true that with any material with which we cover our forearm it will be more difficult to feel the pressure of the water, but obviously, the better and thinner the material, the greater the feeling of grip. In addition to this, there is another reason why a thin thickness in the arms is beneficial, and that is the little pressure that the neoprene exerts on both the forearms and the biceps and triceps during the stroke. The fact that the neoprene does not press means that the swimmer has much less tension in the arms, that the arms are much more relaxed, that they are more comfortable, that it is easier to feel the grip and therefore that the swimmer can swim more distance and faster. And this in this sense, wearing such a comfortable material and only 0.5mm is extraordinary. TWINS: Another aspect that caught my attention was the 2mm DF Flex material on the cufflinks. When I touched it I thought, why this material so different in the cufflinks? As with the forearm material, this highly flexible and comfortable material completely eliminates the pressure of the neoprene on the calves, making slightly bending the knee for the kick much easier. There are wetsuits with thicker material that make the legs too stiff and make many swimmers swim with little kick. The more distance you know, the more you notice it, and if you go to take the bike and run later, you will notice it more than you think. Another 10 for the Head OW Pure FS 3.0,5.

EASY TO PUT ON AND REMOVE ONLY: How is it that putting on and taking off wetsuits in general costs so much? The answer is simple, the quality of the materials with which it is manufactured makes the difference. The first use is always done with great care, but with the different materials, thicknesses and flexibility they offer, after using it 2 or 3 times you put it on practically without realizing it. Up to the waist it goes alone, I personally have more care with the area of the sleeves and arms because they are extremely thin, but the rest goes very easily. The fit in the armpits is perfect and between the legs too, it is very very comfortable. The closest thing would be to say that it is like pajamas. The changes of material are strategically located and structured, so it is very difficult for the neoprene to open in these areas. And the seams on the inside are very well sealed, once on they are not noticeable. The zipper is YKK. Two of the characteristics of this brand are its smoothness and firmness, which are noticeable both when closing it and when opening it. It closes from the bottom up so it is very easy to climb it even when alone. To open it, simply release the velcro closure at the back of the neck and gently pull the rope down, it opens smoothly and quickly. Taking it off is wonderful, with the forearms and cufflinks of different material, it comes out alone. Something important if you are going to compete in triathlon so as not to waste time in the transition.
